I know I didnt post about day five or six and I apologize but I had some problems that week, across between having a friend get killed by a dui and my closet getting flooded thanks to a broken hot water heater I didnt get around to posting. But no worries I got everything completed Friday night before the tourney.
So in four weeks I successfully painted all 1500 pts (including the insides of the drop pods, moding both dread and droppods with magnets and painting a 2ft x 2ft display board.) Today, if you’ve been paying attention today was the tournament at Phoenix Games. Out of three games I lost one and had a draw on the other two, for the first time with the army thats no so bad (especially seeing how I’ve never used drop pods before). Needless to say I didnt win the best general or best over all trophy but I did walk away with the best painted. For more pictures of the tourney click here.

4 days down two to go, todays update is brought to you by tired ass hand. The two dreads are totaly done, the tanks are all done the only thing left are the two drop pods…well really only one drop pod. After about 4 hours of work one drop pod is painted on the outside and the other has it’s magnets in it. In the morning I will finish it’s insides while the other drop pod gets based. Aside from that I started working on the 2×2 display board luckily I have allllll week to finish it.
I’ll post again tomorrow.

Ok day 2 went as follows, second dread is finished, hq is totaly finished, and two of the arms for the dreads are finished.
For day 3 I got a hell of a late start, so I got to the game shop at around 5:00pm Ken gave me the last of the razorbacks I needed, about 45 min later I had is assembled and based. After alot of BS’ing and procrastination I got the third razorback finished and its drying now…well minus the turret I left it at the shop..my bad. So needless to say tomorrow (day 4) will start with me painting the turret to match its brother and finishing the last two dread arms. With that done I only have the big hurdle left, the drop pods.
One of the drop pods is assembled based and modded with its magnetics, the second one is still in assembly but I have the top row of magnets in and before I go to bed Im going to put in the bottom row of magnets. As for painting them we will see how it goes tomorrow, I have a general idea of how to do it but Im not 100% on it :p Once again wish me luck, Ill post again soon, 3 days left!

I have about 6 days to complete my army, if I dont have all of it done by Monday I dont think I will have time to finish it in time for the tournement. So with that on the table let me tell you where I stand.
1. Dread, hes together, painted black, and has his magnets on him
2. Dread arms, there are 4 in total, they are together and have their magnets tomorrow I will spray them down in black
3. Razorback, I wont get this untill Friday but it will only take about 3-4 hours to assemble and paint
4. 2x DropPods, this is the hardest. One of the pods is assembled, primed, and modded with magnets the other is ready to be modded and partially assembled.
If I can get this all finished I can build the display base on Monday and paint it all week off and on as long as its done by Saturday. Wish me luck I’ll update before bed tomorrow. Oh and heres a peak at the HQ

So where are we? Three weeks till tournament that’s where. When I decided to play in the tourney with a whole new army I didn’t think about how big of an undertaking it would be. But it’s been one month and in that month I’ve completed 19 marines, 2 heavy bolter marines, 2 flame thrower marines, 3 sargents, 1 dread body (no arms but ready for magnets) 2 vindicators, and two razorbacks. The only thing needed on that lot is decals and one back banner. Really that a shitload of work.
So what’s left? 2 drop pods, 1 dread, 1 razorback, 5 marines , 1 Sargent , and the 6 man hq.
This week I plan on having the 6 man team done, and the 5 man honor guard done. The rest is on hold till after the 10th ( payday ) then it’s $100 bucks and 3 models to go.
Wish me luck.

Ok so the normal 2000pt tourney at the end of Feb. was changed, its now a flat 1500pt tourney..this changes a lot with my list some for the better some for the worst, I went from 6 droppods to 2 so cost is kinda down. But with that drop I lost the thunderfire cannon, a dread and the droppods for the dreads all together. The following is the new 1500pt list that Im taking to the tourney
Holy Crap its a Army List, 1500pt edition

Ok I normaly don’t do reviews but here’s two for you.
1. Thunderfire cannon – 4/5
This is a cool model all n all the technarine that comes in the box is cool but the entire kit is metal. Normally this isn’t a problem but the cannon is so complex that misscasting is a big issue it took 2 hours to put it together and I had to scrape a lot away to get parts to fit properly. So dremel is required.
2. Drop pod – 5/5 so far
For the price this thing is the bomb, it’s crazy complex an crazy detailed. Ok the rhino kit is cool but there is no need to paint the insides really but the drop pod is so detailed and open that to keep the doors shut would be a crime. My only complaint is that there is no varient inside for dreads, you just remove the crew restraints. Other then that this kit is the coolest thing GW has made in years.

So lastnight I didn’t get as much done as I wanted with the tournament in alittle under two months there’s a lot still to do. Lastnight I got the second vindicator started but not finished, 20 men are assembled up to the arms and have bases flocked, and one dread is assembled and his base is flocked. Tonight I’m going to try and finish the second vindicator, assemble the second razorback and prep everything I can for a mass basing on thursday. Wish me luck
